COMMUNITY GARDEN
Growing Food. Growing Families. Growing Futures.
Our community garden isn’t just about planting vegetables—it’s about planting hope, connection, and skills that last a lifetime.
In partnership with Touching Miami With Love, and with the support of Home Depot and Formula E, Sprout Up launched a multi-purpose garden space at the Homestead campus that blends aeroponic and traditional soil-based gardening.
Our garden is now a hands-on classroom for children and families to learn, grow, and connect with themselves and one another.

What Happens in the Garden?
Each week, children participate in two-part sessions:
-
Social-emotional learning (SEL): Exploring emotions, building confidence, and learning how to communicate
-
Hands-on gardening: Planting, nurturing, harvesting—and even tasting—what they grow
Monthly Parent Academy workshops focus on:
-
Healthy cooking with garden-grown ingredients
-
Affordable family nutrition
-
Wellness and self-care practices
The garden is a shared space where families come together to:
-
Build community
-
Gain tools for wellness
-
Discover the joy of growing food and feeding one another
Why This Matters
Many of the families we serve face barriers to healthy food, outdoor recreation, and safe gathering spaces. The garden allows us to meet those needs all in one place—while also teaching self-sufficiency, cooperation, and emotional resilience.
We're not just growing plants.
We’re growing confidence, connection, and community.

Formula E Partnership
This initiative was made possible through funding from Formula E, whose race week at Homestead in April brought drivers and media to visit the garden. Sprout Up families engaged directly with the Formula E team and received tickets to attend the race—creating unforgettable memories while celebrating community, sustainability, and global connection.
The garden is located at:
